Charities
How charities are curated and onboarded for the Tzedakah Box pilot.
Curated pilot
Tzedakah Box starts with curated charity destinations. This lets the team test the full donation flow, payout readiness, support process, reconciliation, and trust model before opening broad self-service charity onboarding.
Curated charities may change as pilot needs, payment-provider requirements, payout readiness, App Store requirements, legal review, and community feedback evolve.
Selection posture
During the pilot, MitzvahBox may consider:
- Clear charitable or nonprofit purpose.
- Public identity, website, and contactability.
- Payment and payout readiness.
- Compatibility with App Store and payment-provider requirements.
- Ability to support receipts or donor questions where applicable.
- Community relevance for Jewish giving, tzedakah, education, relief, welfare, or related causes.
Listing a charity in the app does not mean MitzvahBox has independently audited all charity spending.
Apple and payment-provider requirements
Nonprofit fundraising and payment flows may be subject to App Store, Apple Pay, Stripe, bank, charity, tax, and jurisdiction-specific rules. Charity participation may depend on approval, documentation, payout setup, and ongoing compliance.
Charity onboarding interest
Donors can nominate a charity, and authorized charity representatives can use the same review-gated form to apply. Email charities@mitzvahbox.org if the form is not accessible.
Please include:
- Organization name and website.
- Country and legal charity or nonprofit registration details if available.
- Primary contact person.
- Payout country and preferred payout method if known.
- A short description of the community or project you want donors to support.
Payout readiness
Payout readiness may be marked internally or shown publicly only when it is safe, accurate, and useful. Some charities may be listed for pilot discovery before payouts are fully automated, while others may be blocked until setup is complete.
